A Video Explaining HFE Solvents

Hydrofluoroethers (HFEs) are often viewed as safer and more environmentally friendly alternatives to perfluorocarbons (PFCs) and chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs), used for specific applications in HDD and other electronic device manufacturing processes.

Solexir has an established track record of providing different HFE products for use in high-end technologies.

  • Low toxicity/environmentally friendly
  • Zero ozone depletion and short atmospheric life time of <0.49 year
  • Non-flammable (no flash point)
  • Contains no volatile organic compounds (VOCs)
  • Low water solubility (< 0.05 g/ 100 g H2O)
  • Thermally Stable (i.e. no degradation at 240°C for 12h in a SS bomb) – can be refluxed continuously in a cleaning system without degradation
  • Form: Clear liquid
  • Boiling Point: 52.6°C
  • Vapor Pressure: 0.0442 MPa
  • Evaporation rate: > 50 (relative to BuOAc = 1)
  • Molecular Weight: 200 g/mol
  • Purity: > 99.5%
  • Density: 1.481 g/mL
  • Viscosity: 0.65cp@25
  • Surface tension: 16-17 dyn/cm
